As mentioned already, Komatsu Seiren Company Ltd. jointly with the University of Tokyo SPL event were being held with the title of "Small Architecture/Construction ideas for 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics". The event was held at The University of Tokyo, Faculty of Engineering Building 1.

This year, the exhibition, held in front of Faculty of Engineering Building 1 which made the environmental design, parse-perspective drawing and model designs, CABKOMA, carbon fiber and fabric element material also used for the construction of new headquarters ridge of Komatsu Seiren. This creation has no bony framework/bracing, fixed with soft and very light carbon fiber and stretchable materials. The new design thoughts are reversing the basics of past architecture theory and creation and thought itself is prepared for one of the ideas for Tokyo Olympic Games and Paralympics.

At this exhibition event, pretty much ideas/samples for the ¡ÆSmall Architecture/
Construction were introduced utilizing ¡ÆGreenBiz¡Ç materials by students. The contest or competition on such ideas were also held in last year. In fact, good design and concept were being used and commercialized. It is excited to have good idea and design for the real commercialized level.

Selection of excellence award-the University of Tokyo SPL event June 20, 2014

On this day, total 100 architecture and design ideas were demonstrated utilizing the ¡Ægreenbiz¡Ç materials in considering the environments for the preparation of 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.Precious and valuable ideas were presented by the students whose major is ¡Æsustainable prototyping laboratory¡Ç. Award of excellence have been selected to three people whose design were unique in the effective use of greenbiz materials and its characteristics. Here follows with three students and a piece of work;

*Student name; Yanli Xiong, born in USA. Graduated Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, entered the school of engineering, the University of Tokyo with g30 programs. Currently, concentrating on exhibiting his designs and ideas.

Title of work; effective use of porosity of greenbiz-artificial coral reef

June 20, 2014June 20, 2014

The porosity of greenbiz is much similar or creation of coral reef which will enable to a¡¡biodiverse habitats. By and placing ¡Æartificial coral reef¡Ç in the sea, it will create activation of plankton and other undersea lives and it will be a hub for the new type of¡¡undersea lives. With the variation of hole size, it will create another type of coral reef¡¡environments(biodiversity). At the same time, it will help decreasing of coral reef but to¡¡produce the fine ocean life condition.

*Student name; Ornchuma Saraya, born in Thailand. In 2011, she graduated Chulalongkorn University, entered the school of engineering, the University of Tokyo with g30 programs. Currently, her majors are focused on ¡Æenergy and environmental design¡Ç and observation of sustainable and reliable system in architecture industry.

Title of work; Self Organizing Roof Kiosk with the meaning of Kiosk eaves is open in the absorbed weight.

June 20, 2014

*Student name; Kevin Clement, born in USA. In 2007, he graduated the University of¡¡Washington. He had an experience for about 6 years in Australia and entered the school of engineering, the University of Tokyo with g30 programs. Currently, he is mainly studying architecture designing utilizing computer technology and know-how.

Title of work; Olympic ticket copy containing seeds and plant-mediated if bury it in the¡¡ground.

June 20, 2014June 20, 2014

The Greenbiz material is recast as a small spherical, biodegradable ticket with an inner seedpod. Rather than being thrown away, Olympic tickets are to be strewn throughout the streets of Tokyo.

Because the Greenbiz material is able to absorb and hold water for long periods of time, it will provide adequate moisture and a protective environment for the seedpod to grow into a plant.

During and after the Olympics, Tokyo¡Çs streets will be filled with flowers and greenery
